Hi [[first name]]
Another Year Over And What Have You Done?
I was walking out of the gym this morning and there was Christmas music playing in the background and it struck me as to how profound the words of John Lennon are at this time of the year. He sings "and so this is Christmas and what have you done another year over and a new one just begun." Hearing these words made me stop and think "well what have I done in 2011?"
On a personal level I celebrated my 10th wedding anniversary with my beautiful wife and soul mate Simone. My son Kayden turned 7 and it was a joy to see him fall further in love with sport - I can see us spending many a day either playing or attending sporting events together as he gets older. My daughter Tahlia turned 3 and continues to have her father wrapped ever more tightly around her little finger. I really enjoyed watching her grow and develop more and more words and I am fiercely proud of both of them.

Student Success Story - Jess Elliott
Jess Elliott completed the Certificate III & IV in Fitness with CAE/Career Fitness in December 2010. The reason she chose to do the courses was "I love exercising so it made sense to study Certificate III in Fitness. However, I enjoyed the experience with Aaron and the Career Fitness team so much that I wanted more, so I went on to complete Certificate IV as well!" The best part of the courses was learning the importance of correct exercise prescription and making some long life friends with similar interests to me who I have stayed in contact with ever since the course finished"

The Thruster - your clients will love the results this exercise brings |
Aaron's Toolbox - The Thruster
Why this exercise made it to Aaron's Tool Box
The Thruster is a fantastic exercise which recruits a large amount of muscle through the legs, core, and upper body. It requires the development of coordination and strength which makes it a really time efficient exercise that is perfect for your clients who are looking for the most "bang for their buck" in the shortest amount of time. Your clients will love the challenge of holding their technique as their heart just about pounds out of their chest on the last couple of reps! It is the sort of exercise your clients might hate during the last couple of repetitions but they will love the results it brings.

Tips
Start with the bar rested across the front of the shoulders. Keep the chest up & the feet approximately shoulder width apart.
Perform a full squat, pressing the bar above the head early during the extension of the hips & knees.
Cautions
Maintain balance throughout all phases of the exercise.
Do not round the spine or press the barbell forward from the body. |

Another Answer From Aaron
One of my individual mentoring clients Mike Robbers asked me a fantastic question during a recent consultation. "What do you think the best way is to conduct a complimentary Personal Training session to maximise the chances of the prospect becoming a paid client?"
3 Steps To Convert Complimentary PT Consultations Into Money In The Bank
The best way to convert the highest percentage of prospects that show an interest in your personal training service is to offer a no obligation, complimentary consultation valued at $ (whatever you bill for 60 minutes of your time). Once your prospect agrees to take you up on your offer you simply go through the following 3 steps.
Step 1
During the first 20 minutes you should get your prospect to fill in a Par-Q form (medical history) in order to cover your legal duty of care. You also want to ask as many questions as you can to find out why they are interested in personal training, what results they are after and why achieving these results is so important to them. Going through this process will demonstrate both your professionalism as well as the fact that you are serious about helping them.
